They tried hard to stop me from writing on here, for fear of our blog losing its informative nature. “No sales talk!” and “let’s avoid pitching” were just some of the things said in the meeting room, but I’m here and ready to pitch!
OK so I’m still not allowed to pitch… but we have had a few customers ask about these new services we’ve added to our portfolio recently and I thought a quick informative blog would clear up the confusion.
What is FlexMove™?
FlexMove™ is a free service which we introduced earlier on this year in an effort to help our customers move from their incumbent suppliers over to us. The inception of the idea was quite simple actually: nobody knows our data centres better than we do, and we like to think we’ve got a pretty good grasp on the data centre industry as a whole, so it makes a huge amount of sense for us to take care of the relocation process.
Hardware relocation can be a real hassle. In fact, I read somewhere it’s the number one reason that businesses stay with their supplier, even when they’re unhappy with the service or prices. In a nutshell, there’s enough to think about when you’re making a big change to where you host your infrastructure and we want to do everything we can to make the buying experience with us a great one. So a free, professional relocation service just made sense.
What is FlexPower™?
Towards the end of last year we were approached by a customer who, out of curiosity, wanted to see just how much more power they were using while their servers were under standard and heavy load. This got us thinking and we recognised that, for businesses whose power requirements can fluctuate, sometimes the traditional model can result in over-paying for their power. So we created FlexPower™ as a way to push ahead of the industry – it’s our innovative answer to pay-as-you-go energy. We’re so proud of it we’ve even given it its own strap line*.
Of course the traditional way of paying for your power is still there, and for those customers who are heavy users of electricity it still works out to be the best payment model. Simply put: nothing is changing – FlexPower™ simply opens a door for those that are looking for a more accurate way of tracking their power usage.
There. That wasn’t too bad, was it?
*”FlexPower™: a better way to pay for your energy”. Catchy, eh?
